Buy Velphoro (Sucroferric Oxyhydroxide) Online (SUCROFERRIC OXYHYDROXIDE )

Introduction

Velphoro (sucroferric oxyhydroxide) is used to treat high blood phosphate levels in adults with advanced kidney disease, chronic kidney disease (CKD), or individuals already on dialysis. It is a phosphate binder that works “like a magnet” to pull phosphates from food and decrease the amount absorbed into the bloodstream. Instead of being absorbed, phosphate passes through the digestive tract and is eliminated in stools.

Velphoro (sucroferric oxyhydroxide) tablets must be chewed or crushed before swallowing. They are not intended to be swallowed whole. If you have trouble chewing and swallowing these tablets, try crushing them and then swallowing them pre-crushed. It’s important to take this medication with meals, as it is meant to help control the amount of phosphate absorbed from meals.

Dosage Information

Dosing varies depending on individual needs. The typical starting dose for patients aged 12 years and older is one tablet (500 mg) by mouth three times a day with meals. For patients aged 9 to 11, the starting dose is often 500 mg twice daily with meals.

After about a week, your provider will adjust your dose to get your blood phosphorus level within the normal range. The maximum dose used in clinical studies is six tablets a day.

Common Questions

How quickly do phosphate binders work?

Velphoro (sucroferric oxyhydroxide) usually starts lowering blood phosphorus levels after a few days of treatment. Your provider may adjust your dose after a week and periodically as needed to get your blood phosphorus levels within the normal range for your age group. Following up with lab appointments to ensure levels remain in a safe range is critical.

Do I need to take Velphoro (sucroferric oxyhydroxide) with food?

Yes. Velphoro (sucroferric oxyhydroxide) works by binding to the phosphorus in the food that you’re consuming. The medication can’t have the intended effect if it has no phosphate from food sources to bind to.
